For this week’s blog, I’ve chosen to focus on the color red. This is partially because of Valentine’s Day this week, but besides that it is just such a pretty color! My eye’s immediately go to it in any circumstances and it’s such a multi-faceted color.

The eighth picture is a shot I got backstage at a Pixies’ show. I think the red in that picture fits into the idea that one of red’s many meanings is intensity. I was taking pictures at that show of the performers, and that ended up being one of my favorite shows I’ve shot thus far. The band encored with their hit “Where is My Mind?” and everyone along the barricade was screaming the lyrics with tears in their eyes and on their cheeks. Capturing moments like these is one of my favorite parts of concert photography: there’s so much love from both the crowd and the performers, and this is magical.
